Waiting

Not much going on around here. We are still waiting for Spring to be finally here. There is a possibility of some snow today.
A "home" has been built in the trees in the backyard.
Papaya and banana smoothie. I love this for breakfast!
A book box from www.juliasbookbag.com . This is the British book box. She also has boxes for kids.
My breakfast in the making. Tea from India, my son-in-law travels to India periodically.
The cross stitch is coming along. A book for the granddaughter. Great illustrations!
Tea and cake at the Tokyo airport with our Japanese friend Megumi and family.
The geese fly very high on top of our houses.
In Singapore....about 15 feet high or more.

 Oh the vastness of ND.
Had to add some color here. From Singapore.
Recipe for Japanese cake
We're waiting for days when our feet aren't so cold. We're still enjoying Midsomer's Murders and Father Brown (new series.) I have also started Cedar Cove via Netflix although it's not my husband's favorite. I also started seeing EscapeTo The Country and it's like House Hunters. It's in England and they give a history of the place and also keep things real which I truly appreciate. The views one gets to see it's just marvelous.  Hope you are all doing well!! Sending a hug!! Blessings!

April is here!

Yes April is here! We haven't however seen any April showers but rather beautiful snow falling with huge cottony flakes. It can be a bit upsetting for some who wished that Spring was here already. Well, we can't control the weather but we can get busy with crafts and other projects indoors. I am trying to learn to knit. It will be lots of mistakes along the way but let's see if I can learn it.  I had to laugh how the edges are silly. The first stitch is always a bit loose since I still have not got that "learned" yet. I am learning via Youtube.
I ordered a few books and got two of them. A doctor friend of mine got the Million Of Cats for her grandson and she mentioned it has a good message. The other seen at Julia's Bookbag. I got another sampler from Alicia Paulson.
This little girl just learned to smile! The world needs more smiles I would say!
I just got my order from Nastia Sleptsova. Her art is just lovely!
 The brooch is so cute.
Orchid from the Orchid gardens at the botanical gardens in Singapore.
Nastia included some gifts that I loved it. She sent two cards (in the right of photo.)
The print is 16 -1/2" by 11-1/2" and I will have to look for a frame. Any idea where they have gorgeous frames?
I'm using the brooch with my old wool coat since this fabric is more forgiving with the pin puncture than my other coats.

 Infor about Ms. Sleptsova.
 Waiting for Spring
We watched two movies these past days. "The Age Of Innocence" which had superb acting!
We both loved "A Man Called Ove."   See trailer here. We rarely buy movies  because we watch them via Netflix but I would like to buy that one. Just an incredibly great movie! Have you seen any great movies lately?
Take care and thanks for stopping by!

Happy East!

We March forward with hopes of Spring soon. It was scary waiting for the last storm yesterday but it wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be. We didn't had much snow as the forecast predicted.
I no longer decorate for Easter as I used to when we had little ones but I told my daughter to start doing it now that has a child.  My daughter sent this photo of our granddaughter. Happy Easter from this yawning little bunny.

Beautiful morning!
Started crochet blanket to be given as donation through our church. Life is much better when give things away. Our church sends these overseas and some stay here to help others in the US.
Finally started "First Snow" embroidery kit from here.

   Lumi.
From our trip last month.  Singapore.

Wishing you a peaceful Easter!   xo!

Granddaughter

It's a wonderful thing to be a grandmother. I went to Singapore before the baby was born and a couple of days later she was born and brought lots of joy for both families. Her name is Ellery, Ellie for short. Both mom and baby are doing fine.  I passed a month with them and my husband came for the last two weeks of that and we traveled back together. The jet leg is pretty bad and I am still experiencing it.

We went to the top of the  Marina Bay Sands Hotel, that is the building that looks like a ship on top of three towers. The whole thing is the hotel. From the "ship" we can see the whole city and it was nice to go before it get dark than see the city lights come in when it gets dark.
It was great to take a day off to go to the beach.
Gardens by the bay was fantastic. These gigantic "trees" change colors awhile music is played. Many people layed on the ground to look upward.
The Marina Bay Hotel The "The ship" was fantastic...they have all these palm trees on top, an infinity pool, bar, restaurant...etc, etc.
This view below was from another tall building. We went to a restaurant/bar and from there we have our food with this view. The restaurant is called "Level 33." I had the dory fish and it was great. My husband had something else with a great flat bread.

The Merlion. I never got a good shot. The first few days we were there it was being repared and was all covered up and then this time we were in a hurry and could not get closer. Sorry for the blurry photo. The Merlion is a big symbol in Singapore so I wanted to include a photo here.
 At the botanical garden
 Our sweet one.
Satay was great but the sauce was just a bit spicy for me.

People laying down to watch the tree show with the gigantic trees at Gardens by the bay.
Some of the fruits my daughter had at her house

A giant tree at Gardens By The Bay (It changed colors constantly with the music.)
We were there during Chinese New Year so we took a train to Chinatown and oh my heavens it was very well decorated all around.

I was glad this young lady did not mind me taking her photo. She looked so cute with all the red color around. 2018 is the year of the dog.

This was much fun but sorry to report that my crochet and other crafts had to put away for awhile. I was glad to have been there for the birth of the baby and help my daughter and her husband in a few things. The jet leg was bad so I did not sleep well for more than one week. What a mess :(
We are now back in cold North Dakota and it seems like it will be some snow coming this next weekend. Keep warm and I hope you don't mind me sharing about the trip. It's a beautiful country, clean, polite, convenient and comfortable. I do recommend it for a vacation spot.
P.S.  I corrected the info in here, it is not Fullerton hotel but Marina Bay Sands hotel that has the ship structure on top of it.  No we did not stayed there.  We just went up to enjoy the restaurant and the night view.
Take care and till next time!
Hugs,
Angela
