Je parle espagnol à Dieu, italien aux femmes, français aux hommes et allemand à mon cheval. I saw this someplace in the net...thought it was funny. I think it means he speaks German so bad that only his horse can understand?? I love languages and sometimes I think that I should only speak some of them to the cat. I don't have a horse. This is a photo of the coffee House where I work about about 4-5 mornings per month. This month I will work only 4 times the whole month. It's a great place to get to know people in the community.It's fun! In the photo you see Trisha who is a nurse but also works there 3-4 mornings a month.

Italian Lemonade. These are so delicious. It's very hard to find around here but in about 3.5 hrs travel there is a Hy-Vee that carries them. You will need to find one of those Hy-Vees that have a health food section.

Breakfast

All the doctors that I have worked with do recommend that we have something for breakfast. It helps to speed up your metabolism. I had greek yogurt with honey,dried cranberries, flax seeds and pecans. Whole wheat roll with just a bit of jam and a homemade cappuccino made with skin milk. I had a peaceful breakfast this morning since I am on-call and thus staying at home today.

Son made Tandoori Chicken

It's a Tuesday and I am at home since I was placed on call today. The wild rice tasted very nice. He made it with some olive oil.

Apple cake

Apple Cake


6 green tart apples
3 large eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9-inch pan. Peel and cut apples in small chunks. Place cut apples first in pan. Beat eggs then add sugar and beat some more till creamy. Add vanilla and flour to the eggs/vanilla mixture. Pour that over the apples and bake for 1 hour in the pre-heated oven. Dust with cinnamon and powdered sugar.

The girls from the band "Chasing Lovely" played for us at grandma's house. They are Chloe and Taylor and they live in Nashville.

Iowa

It was such a cloudy day but from the silence of the car I took this photo for it made me miss the days I used to live in a farm. Iowa looks so flat and lonely but somehow it is pretty too. The other photo is a gift from Japan from our friend Megume. She used to be an exchange student at my mother in law's house a few years ago. She came last Summer and I had the pleasure to meet her. She is a wonderful and caring person.

The son of husband's niece. He was so cute, he loved the telefones and even got the tv remote by his ears thinking it was a phone.
