Proverbs 24:14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

1 Corinthians 15:19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

When I was little I looked forward for Christmas Day in the morning for Santa had left me a gift nearby the foot of the bed. This will be sent to Ellie since she isn't here.

Traditionally we leave peas and rice by the front door for good luck. We also eat black eye peas  and pomegranates on the last night of the year Saving 5 seeds of the pomegranates and place on billfold. Do you anything like this for New Year's?
Neighbors came to help after the blizzard.
Pause for sweet potato pie and some snacks.
Whau, gardening catalog is already here! It's nice to dream of gardening during the Winter. The magazine Angels is a subscription given to me by my mom in law.

New baby in the family, my sister in law's grandchild.
Blizzard!
Ham and white bean soup. Just a recipe from Pinterest.
My prayer is that I may I remember that with everyday that comes I have a new chance to be a better person, to be kind, to be thoughtful and feel the pain of others.
Blessings to you and your families!

Merry Christmas!

I am sorry I have been absent. I want to wish each one of you a Merry Christmas. May this be a time we reflect on how we can became more like Jesus. I love this time of the year. We have snow now and today is a bit foggy but cozy to be indoors with a cup of tea or coffee.
We prepare to travel to spend Christmas with family in Iowa. It is a very long drive. We pray for safe roads.
Our daughter was here visiting for the entire month of October with our granddaughter. We sadly miss both of them already. We went to Apple orchards, pumpkin patches, parks and recreation areas around here with them. Her husband didn't came here for his job demanded him back home so he spent a couple of weeks with his parents and left from there.

She wanted to try this floral hair ornament at the store.

Polenta and chicken a la Brazilian.
 The orchard.

We love Kaya and daughter brought it as a gift.
We love the orchard...homemade apple dumplings, warm apple cider, and many other yummies.

 At a friend's farm.

Pannukakku and homemade bread with pumpkin butter for breakfast.
Had friends for coffee a couple of weeks ago.

 Now we prepare for Christmas.

Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Birthday Jesus!!

Matthew 1:18-23 King James Version (KJV)

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
